How to Use This Online Manual
Throughout this online manual, icons appear in the page margins. Each icon serves a particular purpose.

Load File
When you see the Load File icon, you can load a file that accompanies the manual to review the material being discussed. The filename itself is highlighted as follows:

xcomplete.htm

The folder where each file is located is indicated at the beginning of the chapter.

Note
When you see the Note icon, a special note appears beside the icon describing a point of interest in context of the current material.
Tip
When you see the Tip icon, a word of advice appears beside the icon to help you out with a particular subject.

Keyboard Shortcuts, Dialog Boxes, and Menus
The keyboard shortcuts used in this manual are Windows-based. Generally, the following keys are the equivalent if you are using a Macintosh:

CTRL = COMMAND
ALT = OPTION

The dialog boxes referred to in this manual are Windows-based. There will be slight differences in Macintosh dialog boxes.

The menus in this manual refer to the Windows version of Photoshop. There may be slight differences between these and Mac OS 9. There are some slight differences between Mac OS 9 menus and Mac OS X menus.

Selecting Menus
When you are instructed to select a menu item from the main menu of the application the instruction will appears as follows within the text:

Select File/Open.

File is the main menu item, and Open is submenu item in the File menu.
